The 1980 GS...almost a life long friend. I liked it so much I've still got it (as of 2016).

The GS 750 Suzuki. I bought this bike not long before Susan and I got married. It was a sweet running bike and I think it was the first year that Suzuki came out with the DOHC.

My mom called this one the "Leg Breaker". In 1980 I suffered a compound fracture of my left leg when I dropped the bike on my leg.

XL--250 moded to run Hare and Hound. This was a minimal bike and was a blast to trail ride. Spent lots of time up on Bluff mountain, Butterfly gap and Chilhowee mountain and a couple of runs up to Royal Blue.

The Honda QA-50. I couldn't find a photo of mine but this is a good example, though mine was blue. Just a little fun bike. A two speed automatic is was great for popping wheeles and could put you in the dirt on short notice. I became quite good at riding on railroad rails with it, sometimes for hundreds of yards if on a long straight section of track. Had to yield for trains though.
Another bike I had that I didn't get a photo of was the 250 Kawasaki. This thing was a four speed rotary vavle two stroke and it would haul. When it hit the powerband it was like a turbo and would pull the front wheel, even in 4th gear.
While my BSA didn't look quite this bad it wasn't far off. Mine had scrambler type pipes on it and hape hangers. This one appears to have a missing oil tank, among other things.I wish I had a picture of it but this is one that got away.
Thankfully my brother Bob captured me on my Honda sport 50, which I got as a basket case. I had to replace most of the front end including the stamped front fork. Actually I had to replace the fork twice after Larry Norris and I collided head-on on my parents driveway.
This isn't mine but it looked about like this when I sold it to a guy in Alcoa in the late 60's. "You meet the nicest people on a Honda", that was Hondas slogan at the time.
The mighty Wren. Built from a kit it sported a mighty 3.5 HP Briggs. It would fly if you held your finger on the govenour, that is until the rod came through the crankcase. Lots of good memories running up and down our long gravel driveway though. I found this example on the Internet but mine was just like it.
